Data Deletion
How to disconnect a page, how to have the data contentos received from Facebook and Instagram deleted, and how to close your account entirely.
Updated 2026-09-27 · contentos · גרסה בעברית
1.Executive summary
There are three separate things you may want, and they are not the same request. Pick the one you actually need:
- Stop us posting to a page, and revoke the access token we hold for it. You can do this yourself, immediately, in two places. See clause 2.
- Delete the data we received from Facebook or Instagram, including page identifiers, access tokens, a Facebook page’s business details and performance figures. See clause 3.
- Delete your account and everything in it. See clause 4.
contentos does not receive your Facebook or Instagram password, your friends list, your private messages, or the personal profiles of anyone who interacts with your page. What we receive is listed in clause 5.
2.Disconnecting a page yourself
This takes effect immediately and needs no request to us. There are two routes, and doing either one is enough:
From inside contentos. Sign in, open Pages from the menu, choose the page and press Edit, then use Disconnectat the bottom of the form and confirm. The access token we hold for that page, and the page’s business details we read from Facebook, are erased at that moment and we stop publishing to it.
From Facebook or Instagram. You can revoke our access from the platform itself, without signing in to us at all:
- Facebook:open “Settings & privacy”, then “Settings”, then “Business integrations”, select contentosand press “Remove”.
- Instagram:open “Settings”, then “Website permissions”, then “Apps and websites”, select contentosand press “Remove”.
Revoking from the platform invalidates our token immediately, whether or not we delete our copy of it. It does not tell us to erase anything, so to have our copy of the token and of the page’s business details deleted as well, disconnect the page inside contentos or make the request in clause 3.
In either case, posts already published to your page are not deleted. They are on your page, owned by you, and we have no way to reach them once the connection is gone. Delete those from Facebook or Instagram as you would any other post.
3.Deleting the data we received from Facebook and Instagram
To have the data we hold about your connected pages deleted, send us a request with the email address of your contentos account and the name of the page. Either route reaches us:
- Email support@contentos.co.il, with “Data deletion” in the subject.
- The cancellation and deletion form, which does not require you to sign in. That form is in Hebrew, and you may write your message in English.
We will delete the page identifier and name, the stored access token, the page’s business details, the page and post performance figures we collected, and the connection record itself. This is completed within 30 daysof the request, and usually much sooner. We may ask you to verify that the account is yours before we act, so that we do not delete one person’s data at another person’s request.
Posts that were published to your page stay on your page; see the end of clause 2.
4.Deleting your account entirely
Send the same request, saying that you want the account closed. We will delete your user record, your workspace settings, every page connection, all generated posts and images, and all collected performance data.
Two exceptions, both required rather than chosen. Accounting records for payments actually made are retained for seven years under Israeli tax law. Operational server logs, which may contain an IP address, are retained for diagnostic and security purposes and deleted when no longer needed. Everything else goes.
If you have not asked for immediate deletion, an account whose engagement has ended is kept for 90 days so that it can be resumed, and is then deleted anyway. That period is described in the privacy policy, which also sets out your right to review and correct the data we hold.
5.What data we actually hold from the platforms
So that you know what a deletion request covers, this is what we may hold from Facebook and Instagram for a page you connected:
- The page or account identifier and its public name, so we know where to publish.
- An access token for that page, stored encrypted, which is what authorises us to publish and to read the details and figures below.
- The page’s business details, for a Facebook page: its category or categories, its “about” text and description, its website, its location and address, and its opening hours, as they appear on the page. We read them when the page is connected, and again if it is reconnected, so that the content we generate can be suited to the business, and we erase them when you disconnect the page. A detail the page has not filled in is simply not stored.
- Post-level performance figures for posts published through contentos: reach, reactions, clicks, and on Instagram also shares, saves and views. These are aggregate counts.
- Page-level figures: the follower count and total page engagements, one reading per day. These are aggregate counts.
We do not receive and do not store: your password, your friends or followers as individuals, private messages, comments, or the profile of any person who interacted with your page. We use the permissions we request only to publish, to read the page details above, and to read these aggregate figures.
